Ocean City, Maryland: A Beach Adventure You Won’t Soon Forget

With the weather warming up, it’s time to start thinking about where you want to pack up and head off to. Some 8 million visitors flock to Ocean City every year to experience the 10 miles of open beaches, 3 mile boardwalk, and plenty of eateries and shops. If you’re traveling with young ones, they’ll love the water slides, amusement parks, haunted houses and dozens of mini-golf courses throughout the area.  For the outdoor lover in your group, they’ll love the parasailing, kayaking, fishing, surfing and numerous golf courses!

Explore the Boardwalk

At 3 miles long, the boardwalk is a great way to get your exercise in. Rent a bike or just take a walk in the morning to get a view of the ocean and feel invigorated by the breeze. You’ll encounter street performers at all hours of the day to keep you entertained and put a smile on your face. The Travel Channel rates the Ocean City Boardwalk as one of the Top 10 boardwalks in America, so when you make the voyage here, you won’t want to miss it.

Golfer’s Dream

There are 17 challenging golf courses located around Ocean City. For the golf-lover in your group, you’d be hard pressed to find an area with a better selection of links to get your golf fix on. Many of the courses that surround Ocean City have been designed by the pros. Pros like Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player have all lent their hand in creating some of these beautiful courses. Baywood Greens and Deer Run Golf Club are just a few of the courses you’ll want to make a point to visit.

Foodie’s Delight

After a long day on the links or soaking up the sun on the beach, a good hearty dinner is in order. Being directly on the ocean, you can expect the seafood to be some of the best you’ve ever had. Restaurants such as The Angler and Bonfire will make sure you leave happy and want to come back again. If you’re more of a ribs connoisseur, then you’ve got to try JR’s Ribs. You’ll want to come back for more year after year.

The Beaches

Last but not least, we can’t talk about Ocean City without mentioning the beaches! OC’s beaches are perfect for taking a dip or catching some sun (or both!). There are 10 miles of gorgeous beachfront that you have unlimited access to for free! Build a sandcastle, play some beach volleyball, or just read a book and enjoy the sights and sounds!
