It’s almost time for summer vacation and you know what that means. RVing! It’s time to get your RV out and ready to enjoy. Many family memories lie ahead, but first things first. You need to decide where you want to go and what you want to do. Make this the summer that you head out on your dream vacation and visit that place you’ve never been to.

Before you head out, though, there’s a few things you need to do.

Start the season by cleaning your RV. Open the windows to let some fresh air in. Wash the outside to get any grime and dirt from the windows and body. De-winterize so you can use the bathroom and holding tanks. (Or make an appointment to have our Service Department dewinterize for you.)  Bring fresh linens in and get the bedroom and sleeping areas set up. Stock your pantry with all the non-perishable goods you’ll need.

After your RV is ready to go, start checking out places to visit. Tripadvisor.com is a great resource. The Good Sam website offers a new Trip Planner for members, and the Roadtrippers website is a wealth of information for travel planning, mapping your route, and finding fun destinations along the way. Try challenging yourself to visit one amusing place, one historical place and one wacky place. It’ll really get you you excited and force you outside of the proverbial box.

Now, once you’ve decided on a place it’s time to find something fun to do. Look for indoor activities in case the weather gets ugly, but also be sure to check out the many free and affordably priced state parks, museums and shows that are found throughout the country.

Above all, make sure you have a great time and just enjoy the ride. And, if you have any questions about RVing or need an RV, contact our team here at Hitch RV.
