Atlantic City: Not Just Casinos!

Just a short drive away from our Turnersville branch, is one of the best vacation spots in all of the United States: Atlantic City. We all know that it’s a gambler’s paradise, but it’s also a combination of shopping, outdoor activities and nightlife, all rolled into one great adventure! Next time you’re scratching your head, thinking of a place to take your family and friends for a long weekend. then definitely consider Atlantic City. Here’s a rundown of things to do when you’re in the area.

Outdoors

If you or anyone in your party is a golfer, then they’ll have a hard time choosing which courses to tee off from. With 13 golf courses in the area, at varying degrees of difficulty, you’ll want to keep coming back year after year. Being situated on the coast means you’ve got plenty of fishing, boating, swimming and enjoying the beach to catch up on. Boat rentals will take you out on the sea for some deep sea fishing or just on a tour around the islands to enjoy the breeze. Fishermen in the area mainly catch bluefish, blackfish, drum, striped bass, tuna, cod, flounder and even shark.

The Boardwalk

One of the hallmarks of Atlantic City is the famous boardwalk that tourist and residents alike flock to during warmer weather. Enjoying the beach, the sun, and the water are all part of the experience of the boardwalk. Surfing, kayaking and windsurfing are popular activities taking place on a daily basis. Just walking down the boardwalk will present you with adventure and convince you to try something you never dreamed you would! You can even visit the Absecon Lighthouse, which is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the 3rd tallest in the United States!

Dining

One thing you should definitely do while you’re in Atlantic City is enjoy some of the local dining establishments. Get a taste of what make Atlantic City a great destination not just for yourself, but for your taste buds! Angelo’s Fairmount Tavern, A Touch Of Italy and Martorano’s are great restaurants that will fill you up as well as give you a taste of Italy. Being on the ocean means you won’t have a hard time finding great seafood. Just about anywhere you look, you’ll see another diner with fresh fish for you to enjoy. Dock’s Oyster House, Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood, and Phillips Seafood are just a few of the many places to get your seafood fix!
