Start with the Roof and Work Down

When you’re doing a deep clean of your RV, starting at the top and working your way down is a great way to ensure you don’t have to repeat work. Be sure to use an RV-friendly cleaning solution when you’re working on your RV or you can damage the sealant. If you don’t know what to use, a little warm water and a soft cloth is a safe way to clean your RV’s exterior. If you need a deeper clean, schedule an appointment with our RV service department.

Remove Linens and Wash Them

Another step in your deep cleaning process should be to remove any linens and fabrics. If your RV has been sitting for a long period of time or if you’ve stay in a humid environment, opening the windows to let in the fresh air won’t be enough. Remove any sheets, pillows, and curtains that you can and wash them with a gentle, disinfecting detergent.

Shampoo and Clean the Carpets

Next, you’ll want to clean all the carpets in the RV. This helps to remove any dirt, grime, and mildew from the RV so it’s ready for its next adventure. We recommend using a carpet cleaner or shop vac to ensure you get the dirt that had been worn down into the fibers. You will want to repeat this step on any fabric sofas or seats in the RV as well.

Disinfect All Surfaces

Wipe down all the surfaces in your RV with a wet cloth and then spray them with a disinfecting spray. When an RV sits for a while it is likely that mice and other critters have wandered in, so you’ll want to disinfect as many of the surfaces as possible.

Deep Clean the Appliances

Lastly, take a look at all of your RV’s appliances and deep clean them. We recommend defrosting the freezer and disinfecting everything to ensure a deep clean. You can even run a special RV water heater cleaner through the RV’s system to clear out any issues in the lines.
